Simon Quiroz

I’m a filmmaker, director, and creative technologist blending storytelling, design, and technology to create impactful media. My work spans post-production, color grading, VFX, stereoscopic 3D, and immersive media, with hands-on experience in both traditional and real-time/virtual production environments. I’ve led creative and technical teams on narrative, XR, and next-gen media projects focused on engaging audience experiences.

As a creator and director, I focus on developing original, story-driven work that blends innovation, cinematic craft, and cultural relevance, drawing on a background shaped by diverse influences and lived experiences across borders.

Currently, as an assistant professor at CSUCI, I’m developing a media program and curriculum that integrates modern tools and approaches, including virtual production, XR, and AI-driven workflows. I teach courses ranging from filmmaking and storytelling to post-production, immersive media, creative technology, and real-time pipelines. I’ve directed and contributed to a wide range of projects across film, post-production, AR/VR, and real-time pipelines, with a focus on practical, collaborative approaches.
